The potential use of new and
innovative building materials in infrastructure constructions is
examined in a state-of-the-art report, which has been prepared as
part of the activities at the Expert Centre for Infrastructure
Materials. The use of alternative materials, e.g. carbon- and
glassfiber reinforced composites, as alternatives to the
traditionally used concrete and steel for infrastructure
constructions is assessed from both an economic, an architectural,
as well as an environmental perspective in this report, which is
